The Galveston County Daily News seeks a skilled, versatile, energetic journalist to join its copy editing/design desk.
Viable candidates will have experience building newspaper pages using InDesign, and knowledge of AP style, grammar, punctuation and spelling.
This job requires working a traditional evening/night copy desk schedule.
The Daily News publishes in print five days a week — Tuesdays through Fridays with a combined Saturday/Sunday Weekend edition — and every day in digital form at GalvNews.com.
The newspaper covers a county of almost 350,000 people just south of the Houston metroplex. Its offices are in Galveston, a historic city on an island off the Texas Gulf Coast known for beaches, bays, historic architecture and close proximity to Houston’s urban amenities.
