The Examiner is looking for a transportation reporter who will be willing to take on a competitive beat and write high-impact stories.
You will be covering transportation and public transit issues in the San Francisco Bay area including those related to Muni, BART, bridge tolls, regulations for self-driving cars, bike lanes, SFO, major transit projects, and more.
DUTIES:
- Owning and growing the transportation beat for The Examiner
- Proactively and regularly pitching story ideas
- Accurately, and relentlessly reporting and writing daily stories
- Building sources and expertise to lead in the assigned coverage areas
- Engaging readers on social media
SKILLS:
- Have a proven track record of publishing well-written, accurate and meticulously reported stories
- Be experienced in writing quickly on deadline and reporting
- Be skilled at building trusted source
- Possess a solid understanding of news writing
