The Dallas Morning News seeks breaking news writer

The Dallas Morning News has an opening for a breaking news writer who will cover a full range of news on deadline, reflecting the trending topics of the day.

The ideal candidate can move easily and effectively between high-interest aggregation and high-impact enterprise. Public safety reporting is an integral part of the job.

You should have the ability to synthesize information quickly, as well as the skill to develop, write and present compelling articles for both digital and print audiences.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism preferred
  • At least two years of experience as a journalist is preferred
  • Strong reporting and writing skills
  • Adept with social media
  • Fluency in Spanish is helpful but not required
