The Daily Dot is looking writers to contribute pieces for trend analyses, think pieces, interviews with creators and companies in the creator economy, reported features about underreported issues and communities in the space, etc.

ABOUT THE COMPANY

Passionfruit is The Daily Dot’s creator economy newsletter. It identifies business trends, Zooms with influencers and highlights the best tips for today’s rising creators. As we grow up with the creator economy, Passionfruit wants to be there to help creators navigate it as it explodes to become one of the world’s largest industries.

EXAMPLES OF COVERAGE:

  • Dana Ysabel Dela Cruz’s story on a recently passed law in the Philippines that impacted the livelihoods of pseudonymous creators
  • My story from last year about how fourfront, a company that produces fictional characters on TikTok, failed to help one of its actors after she was “exposed” before the company went public
  • Chika Ekemezie on tiktok pop culture analysts and how they help demystify the institution of celebrity

WHAT TO INCLUDE IN SUBMISSION

  • Write a short introduction about yourself
  • Include a paragraph highlighting your writing experience, relevant credentials and publication credits
  • Attach links to your strongest work or portfolio, and online profile.

COMPENSATION

  • $250-$450 – 250 for think pieces, $300 for interviews, and $450 for reported features.
