Regional editor needed for two newspapers in North Carolina published three days per week. The News Topic of Lenoir, NC and The Daily Courier of Forest City, NC seeks an experienced, energetic editor to provide leadership for their newsrooms.
- The editor is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the newsrooms.
- The editor works closely with the publisher to set the standards and policies for the news department.
- This position supervises a four person staff
- Produces content, edits content and works with a regional pagination hub to ensure the production of the news pages.
Required skills include:
- A strong working knowledge of AP style with an emphasis on copyediting
- Excellent organizational skills for performing daily duties on tight deadlines.
- General computer skills are a must.
- A bachelor’s degree in journalism, or equivalent experience, is preferred.
