The Advocate, the largest news-gathering organization in Louisiana and a recent Pulitzer Prize winner, is looking for a Deputy Metro Editor to help lead its Baton Rouge newsroom.
We’re looking for an experienced journalist who can coach reporters on daily and enterprise stories, manage breaking news in a competitive digital media market, help develop in-depth packages that tackle important issues, and review metrics on story performance.
The Deputy Metro Editor shares responsibility for about a dozen reporters covering local politics, crime, education, courts and the environment in Baton Rouge and its surrounding parishes.
Availability to work nights, weekends and holidays is required, and particularly as news develops.
