Journo Jobs

TechCrunch+ seeks an editor

This job is a hands-on role. The TechCrunch+ editor will engage with the TechCrunch+ writing staff from the point of ideation through publication, working with individual authors and guiding their output.

Strong editing skills, and a willingness to work directly with journalists are critical. The managing editor of TechCrunch+ will be supported by the org’s Editor in Chief, who handles hiring, budgeting, and overall direction of the publication. The editor will handle day-to-day tasks like keeping the editorial calendar up to date, and ensuring that individual members of the TechCrunch+ team are not running into procedural or reporting-related bottlenecks.

The TechCrunch+ team is hiring, meaning that the editor role will expand over to help oversee a larger team. However, the eventual hire for this role will have support from other TechCrunch/TechCrunch+ editorial inputs as required, including copy and line editing support.

TechCrunch+ runs on a combination of Slack, Parsley, Piano, WordPress, Convo, Airtable, and the Google Suite. Familiarity with those software solutions is a major plus.

The perfect candidate for this role enjoys editing high-output writers. Knowledge of subscription media mechanics a plus, but not required.

The TechCrunch+ team is remote-first, and while we do have access to offices, the managing editor can likewise work from anywhere, time zone depending.
