TechTimes.com is looking for a technology editor to join its fast growing team. The editor will be a key contributor to the site, specifically working with writers to generate daily content for the tech section of the technology/science website. Excellent editing skills, and social media best practices are a must.
The ideal candidate must have expertise in consumer electronics from gadgets and engineering, to reviews and entertainment technology, coupled with solid news judgment. This position reports to the Editorial Director. Responsibilities include idea generation, assigning and editing, maintaining editorial calendar and working directly with writers to edit and publish at least 25 articles per day, including writing compelling, clickable headlines.
Requirements:
• At least two years of editorial online job experience.
• Finely tuned attention to detail and extreme organizational skills.
• Ability to turn around copy and post content on tight deadlines.
• Knack for headline writing and overall editorial judgment.
• Demonstrated interest in online journalism and technology news.
• Proficiency but not mastery of HTML, and Photoshop.
• Experience with content management systems.
• Excellent written, oral and online communication skills.
• Proficient with traffic analytics tools including interpreting and understanding analytics in order to create content based upon the data received.
• Knowledge of current Web trends and concepts.
