Tampa Bay Times seeks tourism, workplace and retail reporter

May 20, 2021

Posted by Chris Roush

The Tampa Bay Times is looking for an experienced and enterprising reporter to cover tourism, point out and explain big-picture retail trends and track today’s rapidly evolving workplace.

Tourism is an economic driver that fuels development. So who’s coming here, what’s drawing them and who benefits? The retail industry is continually adapting to changes in the way we buy goods and services: What’s next? And how will consumers’ habits shape the marketplace of the future? The way we work and make a living is shifting, too, a process amplified by the pandemic. What does the workplace of tomorrow hold for Tampa Bay workers? This reporter will be expected to produce scoops, jump on breaking news, turn insightful explanatory reads and step back for smart enterprise.

Please include a resume, cover letter and clips in your application.

The Tampa Bay Times is an award-winning, independent newspaper that values breaking news and enterprise and has the journalists who know how to do both well. It serves a rapidly growing and evolving community with major employment centers and a vibrant small business scene. It’s a fun place to live, work and play.

Our organization is committed to building an inclusive newsroom that represents the vibrant and diverse communities we serve. We welcome qualified applicants of all races, ethnicities, physical abilities, genders and sexual orientations.
