Posted by Chris Roush

STAT logoSTAT, a national health and medicine publication, is looking for an experienced, versatile business editor to lead a top-notch team covering the biotech and pharmaceutical industries.

We’re looking for an editor who can handle quick-turn news adroitly but also help reporters conceive of and frame strong enterprise stories, including industry analyses, profiles, and hard-hitting investigations.

The ideal candidate will have at least five years experience in daily journalism and a deep background in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical sectors. We’re looking for candidates who have a demonstrated ability to move beyond commodity news stories and press for fresh and provocative angles as well as embrace multimedia and all forms of digital story telling.

The position is based in Boston, but the editor must be able to work closely with reporters across the country.

STAT is a startup, so collaborative spirit, flexibility, and a willingness to innovate are essential. Also essential: Fidelity to bedrock journalistic values and a commitment to excellence.

Please send resume, cover letter, and up to five clips that showcase your editing skills to Managing Editors Gideon Gil (gideon.gil@statnews.com) and Jason Ukman (jason.ukman@statnews.com). Please append a brief description to each clip explaining your role in developing or editing the story.
