St. Louis Post-Dispatch seeks a business editor

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch and stltoday.com is seeking an experienced, energetic editor to lead our business coverage.

We want candidates with a combined reporting/editing background to shape sophisticated business coverage across platforms. Candidates must possess well-honed skills in developing breaking, enterprise, multimedia and explanatory reporting.

We want a creative innovator who can lead a team of reporters to produce exceptional work. And we want a professional who understands the business community and the importance of bringing economic news to broad audiences.

The successful candidate will be a collaborative manager who coordinates well with Metro and other newsroom departments to plan and execute coverage for digital and print. The Business editor is an influential leader who guides daily and enterprise coverage.

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
