S&P Global seeks energy reporter in London

S&P Global Market Intelligence is seeking an enterprising journalist to cover financial, operational and regulatory news related to the renewable energy industry in Europe.

The successful candidate will be adept at identifying the most important news developments in the sector, reporting on breaking news and crafting proprietary stories on key industry trends. In addition, our reporters provide on-the-ground coverage of hearings, shareholder meetings, conferences and other significant events.

The Career Opportunity: You will have an opportunity to help expand our European energy news coverage and build readership in the region. This is a new position for the energy team, so your insight will be crucial to defining our coverage. Reporters cover their beat on a daily basis, allowing them to build a network of contacts, learn about market dynamics, and gain a greater understanding of the energy and financial sectors.

The Impact: Our real-time, subscription-based news service reaches an influential readership that includes electric utilities, the renewable energy supply chain, policymakers as well as many leading financial players.

The Team: With more than 300 journalists across five continents, S&P Global Market Intelligence is quickly expanding its coverage of financial and sector news. The successful candidate will work closely with energy editors and journalists around the world, while also working with other colleagues in the London newsroom. S&P Global includes S&P Global Ratings, S&P Global Market Intelligence, S&P Dow Jones Indices and S&P Global Platts. Together, we’re the foremost providers of essential intelligence for the capital and commodities markets.

What We’re Looking For:

Basic Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of professional journalism experience
  • Strong writing and reporting skills, along with excellent news judgement.
  • Ability to work independently
  • Fluency in English necessary. Knowledge of at least one other major European language is highly desirable.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of European electricity markets and financial
  • Knowledge of international renewable energy developments and trends.
