S&P Global seeks editor for retail/consumer news

S&P GlobalS&P GlobalS&P Global Market Intelligence is seeking an editor for our Charlottesville office who can deliver thought-provoking, insightful news and features related to the retail.

On a daily basis, you will edit news articles relating to global coverage of the retail sector, for accuracy, style and content, and to tight deadlines. You will help shape our daily content by developing fresh story ideas and delivering sharp, concise content and prioritizing news coverage. You will also use your strong leadership skills to coach and mentor team members.

The Impact: Our real-time, subscription-based news service reaches an influential readership that includes coverage on retailers focused on apparel; footwear; luxury goods; computer and electronics; home furnishings; automotive supplies; home improvement; and sporting goods. It also includes major multiline retailers/department stores and online/internet retail operations.

The Team: With more than 250 reporters and editors across five continents, our Industry Editors have the opportunity every day to work with people from a wide variety of backgrounds and are able to develop a close team dynamic with co-workers from around the globe. Requirements:

  • Proven business journalism experience.
  • Exceptional editing skills a must, with an ability to deliver sharp, concise content to daily and weekly deadlines.
  • Command of journalistic best practice (AP style, libel issues, etc.)
  • An affinity for analyzing numbers, using in-house data intelligence, financial reports and other industry information.
