The award-winning South Florida Business Journal is looking for a next-generation managing editor to run the daily operations in one of ACBJ’s largest markets. You’ll guide our team of reporters in breaking business news in the capital of the Americas and one of the nation’s most desirable places to live. Duties:

We’re looking for an experienced, visionary leader who can coach, motivate and, most important, lead continuous improvement and change across multiple platforms, with a focus on digital. You must be highly organized, love planning and embrace every creative challenge.

Skills:

Bachelor’s degree, three to five years of management experience, beat reporter experience, strong editing ability, strong news judgment.

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
