The South Bend Tribune, located in South Bend, Indiana, is seeking a business reporter who loves to chase good stories, has the passion to uncover an exclusive enterprise piece and is excited about digital storytelling.

The position’s primary focus is the local manufacturing industry, revolving around the heavy concentration of RV and auto manufacturers in northern Indiana. Previous experience in covering auto or other manufacturing industries is a big plus. But we want someone who has shown they can cover a wide range of business stories, with the ability to write anything from deep profiles to smart trend pieces.

We want breaking news coverage, enterprise stories and watchdog stories. We want someone who can deliver great business stories. Period. Those stories have to resonate across our various platforms, including print, desktop and mobile. Experience in digital story presentation, or experiments with new forms of storytelling, is a plus.

And proficiency in social media is a must. We want someone who has embraced the potential that digital platforms offer for great journalism. We are owned by Schurz Communications, Inc., headquartered in Mishawaka, Indiana, and offer a competitive wage and benefits package that includes paid holidays, paid time off, 401(k) with company match and medical and dental benefits.

To learn more about the company and apply, go to www.schurz.jobs and search for Requisition # SBT2619. EOE.
