The Daily Herald is seeking an experienced reporter to spearhead our
coverage of the environment and climate change, topics of great
importance to our Pacific Northwest readership.
- You’ll need a good pair of boots.
- The ideal candidate is a clear, concise and prolific writer
- One who can tackle breaking news
- Produce in-depth stories.
- You’ll provide our readers insight into some of the complex issues that confront our region: sea-level rise, forest and tidal lands preservation, climate-driven population migration and restoration of endangered species including salmon and our iconic orcas.
- An ability to develop a wide range of sources in business, government
and academia is a must. - The reporter should be comfortable taking photos and video
- Have an aptitude for alternative forms of digital storytelling.
- The environmental reporter might also be called on to author a subscriber
email newsletter and be a representative at Daily Herald events.

news and information source in Snohomish County, Washington, for more
than a century.
This is a full-time, guild-represented position
Salary: $20.48 per hour.
