WCIV has an immediate opening for a creative Digital News Producer! In this role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day production news content on our digital and social platforms. This position will also work closely with the Digital Executive Producer and Assignment Desk and Anchors on content. In this position you will prioritize content for each platform, work with management and staff to generate and write and post stories. You will also be responsible for live streams.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Solid news judgment
- Be a compelling and accurate writer
- Be able to multitask and manage time
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline driven environment
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- The ability to execute news strategies and goals for digital and social platforms
- Flexibility and on-the-spot problem solving abilities are a must
- Proficient with non-linear editing (i.e. Avid) and newsroom systems, such as iNews
Experience:
- Previous news producing experience preferred
- A journalism degree is preferred
