Shoreline Media seeks an executive editor

Are you a passionate and experienced journalist with a proven track record of leading newsrooms to success? Shoreline Media, a respected media company in Ludington, Michigan, is seeking an Executive Editor to take the helm of our journalistic operations. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for overseeing the production of a 6-day-a-week newspaper, *The Ludington Daily News*, along with managing two weeklies, *The Oceana’s Herald Journal* and *The White Lake Beacon*. Key Responsibilities:

  1. Editorial Leadership: As the Executive Editor, you will set the editorial direction for our publications, ensuring the highest standards of journalistic integrity, accuracy, and quality. You will lead a dedicated team of journalists and guide them to produce compelling and relevant content for our readers.
  2. Content Strategy: Develop and implement an innovative content strategy to engage our community and address the evolving needs of our readership. You’ll be responsible for both print and digital content, ensuring that we remain a trusted source for local news.
  3. Community Engagement: Foster strong relationships with the communities we serve by actively participating in local events and initiatives. You’ll be the face of Shoreline Media and advocate for our mission to inform and connect our readers.
  4. Innovation: Stay on top of industry trends, emerging technologies, and evolving reader preferences to keep Shoreline Media at the forefront of local journalism.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in journalism, including editorial leadership roles.
  • Strong editorial judgment and a commitment to journalistic ethics.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • A deep understanding of the digital landscape and the changing media industry.
  • Knowledge of Ludington, MI, and the surrounding areas is a plus.
