With solidarity to international struggles and the goal of enacting a different future, Science for the People seeks submissions on science, technology, infrastructure, and labor under extractive capitalism. We are looking for articles offering radical perspectives and holding up the voices of those effecting change.

ABOUT THE COMPANY

Science for the People aims to build and promote social movements and political struggles around progressive and radical perspectives on science and society. It is committed to the democratic practice of science for the benefit of humanity and the planet.

WHAT TO INCLUDE IN SUBMISSION

  • Write a short introduction about yourself
  • Include a paragraph highlighting your writing experience, relevant credentials and publication credits
  • Attach links to your strongest work or portfolio, and online profile.

COMPENSATION

  • $250: Feature-length stories, with lengths of 2000 words and above
  • $150: Shorter features, reviews, columns, and other articles with lengths of about 1200–1500 words
  • $100: Short pieces of 600–1000 words. This is also our base rate for interviews.
  • $50–100: Data visualization / infographics
  • $50–300: Visual art
