Santa Fe New Mexican seeks a reporter

The Santa Fe New Mexican, a locally owned and independent newspaper in one of the nation’s most interesting capital cities — with a thoroughly engaged readership — is looking for an experienced reporter who can juggle a range of daily stories while tackling thoughtful, in-depth enterprise pieces for weekend editions.

Successful candidates for this fast-paced position will be surrounded by busy, productive colleagues who care about good journalism above all.

You’ll work in a diverse, culturally rich and always-sunny arts and food town surrounded by mountain ranges offering opportunities for stellar year-round outdoor recreation.

Solid reporting and writing skills are a must. We’re looking for insightful self-starters who always have a sharp idea, most often focused on powerful human stories.

Job requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree and experience at a daily newspaper.
  • Strong writing and reporting skills with an eye on deadline and the willingness to tell stories in non-traditional ways.
  • Drive and ingenuity. Our readers demand news about their community, region and state, and our job is to provide it every day. Their expectations are high, and so are ours.

Salary is negotiable, depending on experience and demonstrated ability. Send your cover letter, résumé and clips of your best work to: Cynthia Miller, News Content Editor, Santa Fe New Mexican, cmiller@sfnewmexican.com. No calls, please.
