San Jose paper seeks Apple, Netflix reporter

The Mercury News Business Team has an immediate opening for an experienced reporter  to lead our beat coverage of consumer technology on multiple platforms.

Covering Apple, the most valuable and closely watched company in the Valley, along with Netflix, Pandora, Fitbit, GoPro and other companies in the consumer tech sector, this reporter will produce breaking news, blog posts and enterprise coverage that highlights how these companies are changing our lives and habits and how consumers are responding.

The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, demanding and competitive environment, and is able to produce high-impact enterprise stories without sacrificing daily news. He or she should be a strong writer, capable of working across platforms, from blogging to social media to video to print.

A minimum of three years experience is required with prior business and technology experience strongly preferred.

Interested candidates should send a resume, cover letter and 5-6 work samples to Rebecca Salner at rsalner@bayareanewsgroup.com
