The San Francisco Business Times is seeking a scoop-driven reporter to continue our long-term ownership of the restaurant, hotel and retail beat. You’ll build on our history as the go-to source of news, data and perspective on San Francisco’s hospitality scene. Your top mission is to own the beat and inform and engage readers.
You’ll build a source network of the top tourism officials, restaurateurs, chefs and retail developers and brokers in the Bay Area. You’ll provide a steady diet of exclusive breaking news for our online daily edition, and longer-form stories for our weekly print product and special publications in one of the most vibrant tourism and restaurant markets in the country. The reporter will have the opportunity to write profiles and trend stories. We are looking for a storyteller who can make sense of the economic impact of breaking news for our readers.
Source-building, networking, interviewing, reporting and writing. You’ll also have some serious online and social media chops, familiar and comfortable with using photos, video, data and alternative forms to tell the story.
