San Francisco Biz Times seeks digital producer

The San Francisco Business Times is looking for a digital producer who will help us turbo charge our online strategy and dominate local business news coverage in one of the most exciting cities in the world.

The San Francisco Business Times is a scrappy, must-read news source for the Bay Area business community that publishes daily online and weekly in print. Our award-winning writers compete toe-to-toe — and often scoop — major dailies and web rivals with our coverage of San Francisco companies. We are looking for a web champion who is nimble, a clean writer and thrives in a breaking news environment.

Duties:

• Produce newsy, engaging daily online content.
• Generate and execute digital content ideas.
• Track metrics and engagement with an eye toward constant improvement.
• Work with social media and engagement manager to craft creative strategies for social media initiatives.
• Work with editors, reporters and other stakeholders to plan new content and features.
• Help staff identify and deploy tactics to meet traffic and engagement goals.
• Work collaboratively with news staff, including peers in design, research, and technology.
• Gather and upload selected graphics, photos, informational graphics.
• Regularly participate in and attend Business Journal sponsored events.

Chris Roush

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
