The San Diego Union-Tribune is looking for a business reporter who loves real estate.
The beat includes a range of real estate topics, including buying a home, selling a home, mortgages and financing, and renting. There are lots of opportunities for investigations and data journalism.
We’re looking for someone who will generate innovative, cutting-edge stories and be on top of real estate trends. You’ll be responsible for writing several stories per week, including a longer more thoughtful story from your beat, produce photo/story galleries and contribute to our social media efforts. We work digitally, in print and video. And of course, you’ll be living in a diverse county that spans everything from inland communities to downtown neighborhoods to beach towns.
Qualifications:
2+ years business reporting
Knowledge of and passion for real estate topics
Proven writing and reporting skills
Ability to pitch story ideas and plan for future content
Must be able to work well in a team environment
College degree or equivalent
