Sacramento Observer seeks a general assignment reporter

We plan to hire two enthusiastic, creative, resourceful reporters to cover a broad range of topics of interest.

This will include some breaking news, along with timely news features, trends, profiles, education stories, police and government reporting, and watch dog journalism. Most candidates need at least two years’ experience reporting and writing stories for another media organization, including your college newspaper. Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills are required. You will be working with veteran editors and journalists. If you’re a strong, fast writer who likes talking to people, knows how to ask questions and listen to the answers, can produce timely, accurate, polished stories for the web and update them with fresh news and insights for our weekly print edition, APPLY TODAY.
