Sacramento Business JournalThe Sacramento Business Journal is seeking a reporter capable of establishing themselves as the go-to source of news, data and perspective on the health care industry in our region.

The ideal candidate will be able to marry strong traditional journalism skills – source building, sharp interviewing techniques, strong analytical and investigative reporting skills, clear writing and document use – with online and social media know-how.

They are expected to contribute both short-form daily online posts and long-form feature and analysis pieces. They will also be able to generate a lot of scoops. Only by being out front of the news can reporters establish credibility, identify the most influential newsmakers and interpret the news with authority.

Health care is one of the largest industries in Sacramento. The city is home to a major university medical center; the headquarters of large, regional hospital groups; and innovative biotech and medical technology companies.

And as the state capital, Sacramento will also be where important public policy is made, affecting the health care industry in a period of major change.
