Are you in the journalism field but are worried about the stability of traditional media companies? Come join our exciting online-only publication with a 16-year track record, a team of experienced reporters and a loyal, growing readership.
The right candidate will be able to produce local business stories on a daily deadline on some of our more seasoned and interesting beats, including startups, small businesses, nonprofits, publicly traded companies, local government, and more.
If you love to know what makes people tick and how businesses are built and operate, this is the role for you. You don’t need an MBA to be a business reporter, just a natural curiosity.
Basic qualifications:
– At least 1-3 years of reporting experience, primarily hard news, and the drive to work a beat on a daily deadline
– Proven ability and/or the desire to learn to dig up stories through old-fashioned source work and public documents
– Clean and crisp writing style
– Competitive drive: We want someone who relishes breaking a scoop and hates the taste of getting beat by a competitor
