Reuters seeks U.S. overnight reporter

Reuters is seeking an accomplished journalist to fill a multi-faceted role as reporter and trunk writer who can coordinate stringers and closely monitor breaking U.S. general news during late night/overnight hours.

You must be skilled at fielding stories from Reuters journalists and stringers from locations across the United States and turning them around quickly. You must be well-versed in the major U.S. general news stories of the day and be prepared to chase down developing stories as they unfold.

Reuters is serving a fast-growing customer base of U.S. media outlets, including newspapers and Internet sites, and is focused on producing U.S. general news for a U.S audience. This position will be based on the West Coast.

Qualifications
– Experience as a news agency/wire service journalist preferred
– Ability to write well under pressure
– Ability to juggle multiple stories at the same time
– Experience dealing with stringer copy a plus
– Good telephone reporting skills a plus

He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
