Reuters seeks private equity reporter in New York

Reuters is looking for a enterprising journalist to join our mergers and acquisitions team in New York and report on private equity.

The successful candidate will be breaking news on the biggest leveraged buyouts and fund raisings, as well as write in-depth pieces on the secretive world of private equity. At a time when many buyout firms have become diversified alternative asset managers, the job requires a talented reporter who can cultivate a broad range of sources and write with flair about the trends affecting the industry and its impact on the wider financial system and economy.

If you believe you can bring something special to this role, we want to hear from you. You may have a non-traditional career path, education or background. If you meet the minimum qualifications for the role, let us know in a cover letter with your application. Reuters depends on diversity of thought and you could be just what we need.

Qualifications
– Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, plus 5 years experience as a journalist
– A strong track record of scoops and excellent writing skills
– Experience with M&A, private equity or asset management reporting a plus but not mandatory
