Reuters seeks podcast producer/editor

Reuters is seeking a Podcast Producer whom is responsible for producing high-quality digital audio content for the Reuters.com web site.

He/She will also act as a homepage editor from time to time and be an integral part of a small team dedicated to presenting the day’s top news stories in a variety of formats. The Podcast Editor will be adept at using Adobe Audition, Drop Box, Libsyn, Soundcloud, iTunes and the Reuters.com CMS.

Other duties include editing of Reuters.com daily newsletters and drafting social media promotion for all podcasts and helping the social media team with other efforts to promote Reuters content. He/She will also be responsible for live-blogging of major news events in coordination with the social media team.

Reporting to the Managing Editor for Reuters.com, the producer will direct recordings, coordinate production schedules, ensure high audio quality standards, advise on related expenditure and coverage plans. He/She will work closely with editors and reporters to present timely and thought-provoking material that reflects the depth and breadth of reporting experience of Reuters news.

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
