Reuters London is looking for a highly experienced and enthusiastic reporter to lead coverage of European crude oil markets and trade houses.
The successful candidate will be expected to break news, spot fresh trends in the industry and generate regular analysis as well as in-depth, investigative stories that set us apart from our rivals. To achieve this, the successful candidate will cultivate and maintain contacts with key players and decision-makers in the industry.
He/she will be work with fellow correspondents across the rest of EMEA, Asia and North America. Attention to detail, ability to use, or aptitude to learn to use, Excel and a proficiency with graphics plus a track record in breaking news as well as excellent writing skills are required.
Essential Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
– First rate news judgement and sourcing
– Proven ability to break stories
– Ability to explain complex markets to a wide business audience
– Experience using data and analytical tools to highlight trends
Skills:
– Contact list or ability to build contacts in the markets
– Experience generating content using Thomson Reuters tools or ability to learn
– Excel experience to handle external data or ability to learn
– Experience using graphics software or ability to learn
