Reuters is looking for a driven, experienced energy journalist to report on Asia’s crude oil and LNG markets – a high profile position covering the region’s rapidly growing fuel consumption and the emergence of new global trading powerhouses.
This is an exciting opportunity for a reporter comfortable writing in a variety of formats, from in-depth stories about the resumption of oil shipments from Iran and changing trade flows to sharp and insightful daily reports about volatile markets to spot news about crude tenders.
Role Responsibilities
The role’s main focus will be to cover Asia’s physical crude oil markets, but the reporter is also expected to increase our coverage of the LNG arena, which is in an unprecedented state of flux as supplies mount, prices plunge and buyers balk at investing in handling and storage infrastructure.
Whether chronicling China’s surging fuel demand or the upheaval in the region’s oil pricing system, the Singapore-based Asia energy desk is always at the centre of energy market action, and this position is at the heart of the desk.
The reporter will help drive market-moving coverage of Asia’s oil industry, writing both their own stories as well as bringing together contributions from correspondents around the region to break exclusive news and provide insight into oil markets that can be found nowhere else.
