Reuters seeks Google reporter in San Francisco

Reuters is looking for a hard-driving and insightful reporter in San Francisco to cover Google and other Internet companies, as they develop technologies to remake industries from cars to health care.

Google’s core business is changing as it finds new ways to target ads, especially on mobile devices. The successful candidate will have a track record of both breaking news and agenda-setting enterprise stories. She/he must demonstrate teamwork and the ability to take advantage of collaborations inside bureaus and around the world. A reporter with a technology news background who is plugged into Silicon Valley will be preferred.

The correspondent will cover Google and other Internet companies as required, breaking stories that are of interest to investors, regulators, and the broader public. The candidate will work closely with other reporters in the bureau and across the country, including other correspondents and our editors in San Francisco and New York.

Qualifications
– Knowledge of the technology sector and sources in Silicon Valley
– A strong track record of scoops and excellent writing skills
– Reporting experience in technology or related areas a plus
– Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, plus 3 years experience as a journalist
