Reuters seeks foreign policy reporter in DC

Reuters is seeking an energetic, resourceful, well-sourced reporter who can provide insight and exclusives on the most important news on U.S. foreign policy.

The role requires great collaboration with a team of Washington-based policy reporters and bureaus around the world. The ideal candidate will know how to produce stories on major stories that differentiate Reuters from its competitors.

The role also requires agility to work at time sunder high-pressure to be first with breaking news.

Skills required
At least two years of journalism experience
Track record of producing exclusives
Track record of reporting real-time news
Good writing skills
Experience building sources

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
