The U.S. General News team at Reuters is looking for a journalist to help cover the East Coast from New York. The ideal candidate is a strong writer, self starter and team player with solid journalism experience.
The correspondent’s primary duty is fast, accurate, well-written coverage of general and political news, including legislative issues, elections, crime, natural disasters and trials.
The job covers an extraordinary range of journalism, from pitching smart story ideas, to reporting and writing breaking news and crafting smooth stories from raw contributions. It involves occasional late and weekend shift duties, supervising a network of stringers in the region as well as occasional travel to cover stories elsewhere in the country.
