Reuters is looking for a talented and resourceful reporter to join our team covering cybersecurity and tech policy from Washington. The successful candidate will break news on security breaches of government technology, the nation’s critical infrastructure and that of corporations, investigate intrusions by foreign agents and examine efforts to influence elections. The reporter will also define the important tech policy disputes and set the agenda by writing insightful articles.
The job will require building sources in the industry and in Congress, federal agencies and business groups. So we are looking for candidates who already have strong sources among the cybersecurity industry and among tech policy makers. We will also consider candidates who have a very strong interest in the topic, a proven ability to develop sources, and a record of producing exclusive and enterprising stories.
This beat calls for a creative reporter who can think independently, work fast and tell stories that are entertaining, useful and important. You’ll work with Reuters global network of reporters and some of the best tech and national security reporters anywhere.

- A track record of original, high-impact story ideas
