Reuters seeks corporate restructurings reporter

Reuters is looking for an enterprising reporter to cover corporate restructurings on its mergers and acquisitions team.

The successful candidate will be breaking news on companies hiring restructuring advisors to prepare for bankruptcy, or to avert it. The job requires a well-sourced journalist who can distill complex financial disputes into easily understood and compelling stories, analyses and long-form investigative reports.

It also calls for strong writing skills to capture the drama of company owners battling or negotiating with creditors, as well as the conflicts among the creditors. The restructuring reporter will work closely with our bankruptcy court reporters to tell the story of the biggest restructurings and explain their impact.

Qualifications
– Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, plus 3 years experience as a journalist
– A strong track record of scoops and good writing skills
– Experience as a restructuring reporter a plus but not necessary
