Reuters seeks a Sweden company news reporter

Reuters is looking for a dynamic journalist to join our team in Stockholm as company news correspondent, focused on producing a broad range of stories on some of Sweden’s biggest companies, ones that make headlines across the world.

Based in Stockholm, the successful candidate will work with colleagues in the Reuters bureau in the Swedish capital as well as across the Nordic and wider European regions to produce strong coverage of breaking news, rich exclusives and insightful deep dives into companies within Sweden’s exciting and rapidly changing retail and industrial sectors.

About the role

As Company News Correspondent, you will:

  • Cover a range of Swedish blue-chips in Sweden’s retail and industrial sectors that are of great interest to a global audience, including fashion retailer H&M and flat-pack giant IKEA, home appliances group Electrolux, auto maker Volvo Cars and its namesake truck maker AB Volvo, industrials like Atlas Copco, Sandvik and SKF, and new ventures such as battery start-up Northvolt.
  • Co-operate with a talented group of reporters in Stockholm and across the Nordic region and wider European network.
  • Take on breaking news of companies on your beat, delivering fast and authoritative trunks.
  • Deliver must-read exclusives and scoops on the things that matter on your beat
  • Dig down to produce colorful and insightful looks at trends and dynamics in the fast-moving industries you cover, delivered with clarity and crisp writing.
  • Be ready to chip in on big stories in the Nordic region if needed, such as elections and significant general news.

About You

  • Have energy, drive and determination.
  • Be a fast learner and strong team player.
  • Know how to develop useful sources.
  • Be able to filter quickly through complex information to identify and explain key news elements.
  • Be fully fluent, and have strong, proven writing ability in English.
  • Have a good working knowledge and understanding of Swedish.
  • Have experience working in a news organisation such as a news agency, newspaper, online publication.
  • Multimedia skills and past experience covering major Swedish companies as a journalist are a clear benefit.
