From breaking news on critical minerals deals, takeovers and mergers to how miners deal with climate change and ESG imperatives, this role gives the right candidate the ability to make a mark in this position.

About the Role
In this opportunity as Mining Correspondent, you will:
- Build a network of top-notch sources in Canada’s mining sector, and among bankers, lawyers, and lobbyists to break news on impending M&A, capital raisings, to other corporate actions.
- Spot information hidden in company filings and work with other mining correspondents across the world on enterprise stories
- Leverage Reuters global reach as the miners try to boost profits and reward shareholders, while grappling with slowing demand and soaring costs due to inflation
About You
You’re a fit for the role of Mining Correspondent, if your background includes:
- At least five years of journalistic experience working in a fast-paced environment
- Proven ability to build network of high-level sources and break impactful stories
- Good team player and be flexible to work on quick turnaround stories and work on enterprise stories
- Write with accuracy, clearly and quickly in accordance with our principles and operating standards
