Reuters is looking for a journalist who can find out what is happening inside the world’s biggest luxury goods companies.
Based in Paris, their mission will be to drill beneath the glamorous surface of multi-billion-dollar global giants such as LVMH, Kering, and Hermes. The correspondent will bring the world news about the big personalities that drive these firms, their acquisition drives, their networks of influence and their succession plans.
The correspondent will go beyond the usual luxury industry conventions of catwalk shows, glitzy launches, and company financial statements, and instead think outside the box about how to uncover information. They will shed new light on how these companies operate. They should have a knack for building sources and getting them to share news, they should be a self-starter, and not afraid to swim against the tide when they need to.
They will need to embed themselves deeply in the Paris luxury goods scene, yet always keep a global perspective. They will produce journalism that is relevant for financial markets as well as for media clients and consumers.
Part of a global Reuters team covering luxury goods, the correspondent will spring into action when big news breaks in the luxury goods section to make sure our reporting is the most insightful.
We expect them too to be breaking the big news themselves, by consistently uncovering exclusives that makes waves and that matter to Reuters’ global audience.
