Reuters is seeking a Legal Reporter to break news and deliver analysis for readers seeking insight and competitive intelligence about legal trends and the legal industry, including the business and practices of major law firms.
About the Role
As a Legal Reporter on Reuters’ growing legal news team, you will:
- Hit the ground running with daily news and regular enterprise coverage related to law firm practices and business strategy, prominent lawyers, hiring and compensation.
- Write about high-profile court matters and proactively identify broader trends and key cases as they develop.
- Collaborate with our data and video teams to develop enterprise and multimedia stories.
About You
You’re a fit for the role of Legal Reporter if you have:
- Sources in the legal industry and a familiarity with the leading players in the corporate defense and plaintiffs’ bars.
- An ambition to break news, a commitment to accuracy and a keen attention to detail.
- A minimum of five years of experience as a journalist preferred, ideally with two years of experience covering legal industry news.
- New York area is preferred; location may be flexible for the right candidate.
