The Iberia bureau is looking for an experienced and versatile correspondent to lead its business coverage.
The successful candidate will dig out uncovered business stories, break news on Spain’s top companies and lead efforts to keep boosting Reuters’ initiative file on corporate stories, including M&A, both doing her/his own stories and mentoring other colleagues, as part of a tight-knit team. Strong news judgment, the ability to find out smart, new angles and a solid track-record in breaking news are essential, as are strong writing skills and dedication to help team members shine. The Iberia Business Correspondent will be part of the bureau’s initiative team, focused on corporate stories, and will also occasionally pitch in on breaking news across the file.
Fluent Spanish and excellent English are essential. Portuguese would be an advantage as the Portugal and Spain bureau are deeply integrated and the successful candidate will be helping out on Portugal stories as well. Location: Madrid
