Rest of World is looking for writers

Want to write features? This is Rest of World’s regular reminder that we are open to pitches for longform (3,000 word+) stories about technology outside of the US/western Europe. I want compelling, character-driven tales – stories that need to be heard.

ABOUT THE COMPANY

Rest of World is an international nonprofit journalism organization. It documents what happens when technology, culture and the human experience collide, in places that are typically overlooked and underestimated. Rest of World believes the story about technology is as big as the world that’s using it, and that everyone — from those building technology to those using it — can benefit from a broader global perspective.

WHAT TO INCLUDE IN SUBMISSION

• Write a short introduction about yourself
• Include a paragraph highlighting your writing experience, relevant credentials and publication credits
• Attach links to your strongest work or portfolio, and online profile.

COMPENSATION

•  $1/word and the majority of our Feature stories are 3,000 words+. Payment varies depending on a story’s length, the amount of reporting required, and the format.
