Report for America seeks Corps Excellence regional manager

The Corps Excellence regional manager for Report for America is an important position within the organization. As regional manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the operation of the program on a regional level from the perspective of the emerging journalists and the newsrooms that employ them.

Report for America will be hiring five Corps Excellence regional managers each supervising corps members in one of these regions: Midwest, Northeast, South, Southwest and West.

These positions will report to the Director of Corp Excellence.

SKILLS:

  • An experience of 5 to 7 years in the journalism industry including working as a manager
  • Open-mindedness
  • Ability to mentor
  • Must be able and willing to travel
  • Good listening and observation skills
  • Quality problem solver who can also help others to navigate solving problems
  • Ability to communicate intelligently
  • Skilled negotiator
  • Editing experience
  • Steward of diversity, including visible signs of commitment to diversity issues
  • Fluency in Spanish strongly desired for Southwest and West positions
  • Familiarity with online communications tools such as Zoom, Skype, GoToMeeting, etc.
