The Register-Guard in Eugene, Ore., seeks a skilled business reporter to cover retail, economic development and general assignment business news.
The successful candidate will produce a high volume of hard news and news-feature articles for Page One and the metro and business sections of our daily print newspaper and for our website, registerguard.com.
The ideal candidate will be versed in using social media for gathering and disseminating news and have an understanding of the importance of the economy, jobs and business in a community. Some general assignment and government news coverage is part of this beat. The successful candidate will be able to juggle multiple assignments, switch between business and non-business topics, have a keen eye for stories and produce news for print and electronic news cycles.

Graduation from a four-year college or university required. Preference will be given to those with experience in business news coverage. Possession of a reliable, insured automobile; a valid driver’s license and a good driving record required. Driving record will be verified.
