Refinery29 UK is looking for writers

Refinery29 UK is after well-researched and reported pieces on internet culture, sexuality, gender and lifestyle pieces. They are also interested in pieces that dive into politics and policy impacting young women/non-binary people plus really brilliant first person experience pieces.

ABOUT THE COMPANY

Refinery29 is a global media company focused on young women. It aims to inspire, entertain, and empower its audience through optimistic and diverse storytelling, experiences, and points of view. It is a lifestyle destination that delivers inspiration to live a more creative life.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

I am interested in intersectional reported features, investigations and strong first-person pieces which speak to an 18-35 young women audience. I’m also interested in LGBTQ+ issues within that remit. I commission around 4 pieces a month and the budget really depends on how much leg work would be involved in the piece. A reported feature or investigation would of course get a higher rate than a first person piece.

WHAT TO INCLUDE IN SUBMISSION

  •  Write a short introduction about yourself
  • Include paragraph highlighting your writing experience, relevant credentials and publication credits
  • Attach links to your strongest work or portfolio, and online profile.

COMPENSATION

  • ~250- $335 per article
