About the team:

The Work & Money vertical is in search of a Senior Editor to manage day-to-day assigning and editing on topics including careers, personal finance, and tech. We’re looking for someone who is as passionate about fighting the gender wage gap as they are about knowing Oprah’s net worth, is obsessed with how social media is impacting our lives and finds joy in talking about compound interest. The Senior Editor will be vital in shaping the creative direction of this vertical and recognizes the importance of providing our readers with service-minded coverage alongside trending news stories that take a deeper look at millennial money and career trends.

What you’ll do:

  • Assign and edit 8+ stories/day on a mix of pre-planned evergreen service stories, trending tech and work & money news, op-eds, and personal essays.
  • Edit the work of junior staffers, and bring influencers and experts into the mix through first-person contributions and collaborations.
  • Generate story ideas, including daily news, features, packaged service, longform, video, and multimedia stories
  • Work closely with Work & Money Director to develop the voice of the section and constantly challenge the team to conceive and execute smart and shareable content for millennial-minded women
  • Monitor daily traffic goals and make quick, real-time pivots to help us hit monthly goals

What you have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Positive, intuitive/proactive, and collaborative team player
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong copy editing skills
  • Knowledge of SEO best practices
  • Superior judgment and discretion
