Real Deal seeks reporter in New York

The Real Deal, the award-winning news magazine that provides an inside look at the big players and major deals in the New York City real estate market, is seeking a full-time reporter.

Job duties include pitching and writing trend stories, data-driven stories, investigative pieces, long-format profiles and other cover packages for the 60,000-circulation print magazine. That’s in addition to writing breaking news and feature stories for the website, www.TheRealDeal.com, which gets more than 2.4 million visits a month.

We are looking for someone who is excited about business reporting, and who sees the possibility for great stories in one of the most dynamic real estate markets in the world.

The ideal candidate will have an interest in covering money and power and a keen sense of how the industry brings together elements of politics, business, finance and law.

The ability to write clean copy on deadline is a must, as is the ability to cultivate sources. Experience in business journalism is a plus. Salary is competitive and is based on experience. Benefits include health insurance, a 401-K plan and the ability to grow within a rapidly-expanding organization.

Please send cover letter, resume and three clips/links to the attention of Managing Editor Jill Noonan at jobs@therealdeal.com.
