Real Deal seeks deputy web editor

The Real Deal magazine’s award-winning website, which covers every corner of New York City real estate, is seeking a Deputy Web Editor to join our growing team.

With almost 1 million visits a month, TheRealDeal.com is the go-to news source for real estate professionals and those obsessed with this fascinating industry. The DWE will work closely with the Web Editor on all aspects of the site — from editing blog posts to helping out with social media and special projects — as well as contribute several reported stories per week.

The ideal candidate will be a motivated editing and reporting whiz, with an innate talent for creating clean, effortless copy; a keen news sense; a strong work ethic and stellar organizational skills; and a proven track record of cultivating sources and chasing down stories.

This position offers great room to grow. Salary is based on experience, and benefits include a casual work environment

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
