Quartz seeks reporter, Asia

October 20, 2020

Posted by Mariam Ahmed

Quartz is seeking an entrepreneurial reporter in Asia to shape its coverage of business and the global economy.

The company is looking for a combination of quick analysis of news developments, smart use of data to support an argument, and deeply reported articles on big storylines and for its field guides to the global economy.

The reporter will also contribute to Quartz’s flagship newsletter, the Daily Brief.

The successful candidate will be curious and versatile, excellent at surfacing stories, and able to spot a larger trend or overlooked shift unfolding in corporate, geopolitical, or cultural developments.

This role is best suited to a reporter with at least five years of reporting experience and excellent writing skills in English, who will be driven to make the most of a reporting role that offers a substantial amount of autonomy.

Applicants must have at least one Asian language (Japanese, Korean, or Mandarin preferred) and candidates based in Japan, South Korea, or Hong Kong are of particular interest.

All locations will be considered. (Quartz is currently all-remote, which means you would be onboarding in a remote environment.) To apply, please submit a cover letter saying how you’d like to shape Quartz’s Asia coverage, your resume, and five links to relevant work.
